Looking London, loving style

I'm sure many will agree with me when I say that European women are born with a style sense - they simply dress superbly. But what is it about British chicks that gives them an edge over others, when it comes to style? What amazed me was the style sense of an average Londoner (not very rich, not the best looking of Europeans either), and how she manages to look so put together - all the time. On my first trip to London, when I stepped out of my tube station at Green Park, the 1st thing I wanted to do was run back in, board a tube back to Heathrow and flee the country. About 30 seconds of gawking is enough to take the mickey out of an avearge dresser like me. And they consistently do it, across age groups/income groups/sizes. I actually spotted a girl wearing a lime green eye pencil the exact same shade as her belt!! I refuse to believe that every woman in London is rich, and possesses an overstuffed closet with the best goodies that fashion has to offer. What then of the old ladies I saw, dressed to the nines with scarves and matching statement necklaces, supported by a cane but still elegantly wearing a tote? Wonder if I was behind the barn door when a sense of style was passed around. Or instead, I may have been standing 1st in line on the other queue, where colour blindness was being handed out :-(
I'm thinking, may be it's a good idea to badger my husband into moving to London for, not long, just six months? May be I could watch and learn; or at least, be shamed into paying more attention to what I pull on to my body (not to mention all the weight I'll lose simply by walking all over the city).

My first post, seriously

Hi All,
I have started about a dozen blogs here & there hoping to write seriously.
But, obviously, that didn't happen. I have promised myself that this will be a serious blog with serious content - not "serious" serious, but enough good content to make it worth your while.
So, here goes my first post, seriously.
